Welcome to the Women’s Ministry Community – WSCS at MTC Borivali
Rooted In Christ, We Go Forth in Love, To Share, Care & Serve. Women’s Society of Christian Service, better known by its initials WSCS, is a ministry within the Church for women above the age of 34 years. The main purpose of WSCS is to help women grow in Christian maturity and unite them in Christian service. We are 105 members in Methodist Tamil Borivali Women’s Fellowship. Every Saturday evening 3’o clock WSCS members gather in one of the member’s residence’s and pray. Every Thursday Borivali WSCS members are conducting prayer cells in 7 different places, in that many non-Christians are welcome and together they pray for church project, church programs, missionaries, everyone family related health issues, children’s studies, financial needs, sickness and pray also for our nation.
Purpose of WSCS
- To help women grow in the knowledge and experience God as revealed in Jesus Christ
- To challenge them to respond to God’s redemptive fellowship
- To make Christ known throughout the world
- To develop a personal responsibility for the whole task of the Church
August 15th is celebrated as Women’s festival yearly. Any one Sunday of September month is observed as Women’s Sunday yearly. A retreat is organized once in a year for all The Tamil Methodist Women Fellowship members at Parel Methodist Church. WSCS members have the pleasure to state that they are supporting 2 Missionaries. Also, they support the church for the Gospel Outreach. WSCS Members attend all the meetings which is conducted by North Mumbai District Council as well as the convention organized by the M.R.C. Every Sunday after church service WSCS members sell tea to the church members and that income is given to Borivali Church building fund project. WSCS members meet the sick people of the church in their homes and pray for them as well. They attend the Bible Quiz and Memory Verse Competition which is conducted by church. Each members save one Rupee per day and give to the women’s fellowship fund, during the Lenten days also they collect one rupee per day and give to W.S.C.S fund and this fund is used to help the poor and needy.
